I have over 700 quilted, curly and figured grain pieces, mostly redwood old growth.
As I am on the coast most are not totally dry. Of course the best pieces always sell first wet or dry.
Let these pieces acclimate to your area for several months. Work it, use it but no finish for a month or 2. 

I have been cutting and selling burl from the Eureka Calif. area for over 55 years now and still learn something new about the wood every few days.
